OVERVIEW:

The Eland I&II complex is a $2 billion clean energy facility in Kern County, California, developed by Arevon Energy to supply power to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). It combines 758 megawatts of solar capacity with a 300 MW / 1,200 megawatt-hour battery storage system, meeting roughly 7% of Los Angeles's total energy needs.

Wilder provides ongoing Kern County and CDFW monthly, quarterly, annual and sensitive species compliance reporting service as a sub-contracted subject matter expert through EnviroPlus Consulting on the Eland Solar complex.

Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Lands Expansion + Translocation

Wilder was sub-contracted to provide field leadership, data processing, and GIS for clearance surveys for desert tortoise on approximately 150,000 acres, followed by translocation of resident animals, then continued long-term tracking through radio telemetry and ongoing yearly USFWS health assessments.

Enterprise Sanborn Solar Project

Nate Jones was contracted to serve as Project Field Lead on 3,500+ acres of photovoltaic solar development.

Pioneertown Motel Improvements

The historic Pioneertown Motel is planning an upgrade and expansion, to accommodate the growing number of visitors to the area.

Desert Breeze Solar Project

Wilder Ecological was sub-contracted to effect a USFWS clearance for desert tortoise, western burrowing owl, and desert kit fox on a 667-acre photovoltaic project, and completed a successful translocation of 11 desert tortoises during a compressed fall season time line.
